The EU‑funded NANCY project has entered its Proof‑of‑Concept validation phase, moving from lab prototypes to live trials across Greece, Italy, and Spain to show how tomorrow’s networks can stay fast, secure, and reliable in everyday use. Led by Italtel, this phase brings together AI‑driven decision‑making, advanced radio technologies, and quantum‑ready security to prove benefits people and businesses will actually feel—fewer drops on the move, stronger protection for digital identity, and smoother coverage where it’s needed most.

What’s new in NANCY?
NANCY partners combined software and hardware into one working platform, then deployed it across indoor labs and outdoor sites. An automated update pipeline speeds testing, so improvements can be checked quickly and safely. A shared “map” of the platform guides end‑to‑end.
- Six testbeds activated across Greece, Italy, and Spain to validate NANCY in varied, real‑life conditions.
- Three Proof‑of‑Concept scenarios prepared and executed
- Fixed transport links to keep data moving smoothly.
- Smart coverage expansion to reach hard‑to‑serve areas.
- Robust connectivity for moving devices (vehicles, drones) so apps don’t drop.
- First and final platform releases delivered for trial use, with a shared functional and deployment view guiding all partners.
- Continuous feedback loops established, using clear performance and security metrics to improve the platform run‑by‑run.

“This is where all the pieces come together and are proven in realistic environments. Our clear goal? Bringing us closer to smarter, safer, and quantum-ready networks that people can rely on every day—an achievement made possible by close collaboration among partners.”
— Antonella Clavenna, Research and Innovation manager at Italtel
